Our site consists of 3 tunnels under the Tyne with a 4th currently under construction. The vehicle tunnel is by-directional and is a toll tunnel. The pedestrian & cyclist tunnels house 4 escalators which have a vertical rise of 15.8m and which have the original wooden stairs/treads. The tour includes a visit to the motor rooms and a visit to the traffic control room.

The Tunnels are a 10 minute walk from Howdon metro station and are on the 317 bus route.
The tunnels are 1m S of the silverlink roundabout and are accessable via the Howdon Bypass.
Disabled Toilets available.
