A free heritage walk around Houghton-le-Spring, led by local historian Paul Lanagan. The hour long walk, which will be suitable for wheelchair users, will take in many of Houghton's historic buildings and noteworthy locations. After the walk, a local history DVD will be screened in a local public house, where a complimentary buffet will be provided

Houghton-le-Spring town centre is well served by buses from Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham
The Heritage Walk starting location will be revealed when you pre-book your place.
There are no public toilets in Houghton-le-Spring.. Heritage Walk will be taking place around the town, which is well suited for those with mobility issues.. There is ample parking space in Houghton-le-Spring town centre, particularly in the free public car park behind Houghton Library, on Station Road..
